Louis van Gaal has received support for extending his time at Manchester United

Louis van Gaal has received support for extending his time at Manchester United from an unlikely source – Park Ji sung.

The South Korean midfielder has not played for United in several years now, but he remains out of the Red Devils as the Asian ambassador. He has expressed his views about Van Gaal on the verge of being sacked. The Dutchman has had an enormous amount of money to spend at Old Trafford. However, the activities of the transfer market have not necessarily translated into a better squad. Many feel that the team continues to be on the decline especially as they struggle to score goals.

José Mourinho has already been lined up as a replacement according to several reports. The Portuguese boss has also reportedly signed a precontract agreement with the club. One of the most experienced managers in world football, Mourinho has won trophies wherever he has been. After having just failed to bring Pep Guardiola, it appears that the club has decided to go with a trusted name in English football. However, Ji sung feels that Van Gaal needs more time to settle into English football. The Dutchman only has 12 months left to run on his contract after the summer.
